The C63 coupe was engineered according to a strict “no compromises” approach as you would expect with the AMG badge. With a distinct dual personality is how Mercedes' go-fast division likes to do it, so getting from Point A to B can be as awesome or scary as you'd like in the 63. Inside the instruments are easy to read, Mercedes' COMAND multimedia interface is simple to understand and use, and the steering wheel is the perfect size and feels great in your hands. The harman/kardon stereo is fantastic but you might just keep it off because the exhaust note of AMG's 6.2 liter V8 is simply amazing, it sounds like a Norse God of thunder...(when he's angry). At idle, it's subdued, but just poke it a little, and a booming rumble fills the cabin and scares children for miles in every direction. The firmer suspension, matched to a palatable helm and grippy rubber, produces highly controllable corner transitions with little slip or slide, but summon all of the C63's 443 lb-ft too early while exiting a corner and you'll be doing your favorite Formula Drift impressions before you realize it. With 451 horses and 443 pound-feet when you put the pedal down you get an instantaneous WHOMP! WHOMP! through shifts are smooth and unimaginably quick taking you from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and cross the 1/4 miles in 12.1.
